1001 de albume de ascultat într-o viață este o antologie a albumelor considerate drept cele mai reprezentative din ultimii 50 de ani. Cartea e editată de Robert Dimery.

Antologia a fost alcătuită de nouăzeci de critici muzicali și e prefațată de Michael Lyodon, membru fondator al celebrei reviste Rolling Stone. Albumele sunt aranjate în ordine cronologică, începând cu albumul lui Frank Sinatra, In the Wee Small Hours și isprăvind cu cel al trupei The White Stripes, Get Behind Me Satan. Această antologie de muzicieni și de genuri (blues, rock, jazz, heavy-metal, glam, reggae, disco, punk, rap, new wave, post-punk) se dorește a fi un ghid, o incursiune în istoria muzicii și o invitație la a asculta unele dintre cele mai importante albume lansate în ultima jumătate de secol.
