バーナード・ベイリン

バーナード・ベイリン（Bernard Bailyn、1922年9月9日- 2020年8月7日）は、アメリカの歴史学者。ハーバード大学名誉教授。アメリカ史、とくに植民地時代から独立革命までのアメリカ史専攻。ピューリッツァー賞歴史部門を2回受賞している（1968年と1987年）。1968年には、バンクロフト賞（コロンビア大学）も受賞した。1975年には全米図書賞を受賞。

生涯

コネチカット州ハートフォード生まれ。ウィリアムズ大学卒業後、1953年にハーバード大学で博士号取得。1961年からハーバード大学教授、1993年に名誉教授となる。

2020年8月7日、マサチューセッツ州ベルモント（英語版）の自宅にて心不全により死去。97歳没^[1]。
