Madan Rathore is an Indian politician from Rajasthan who served as member of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from Sumerpur constituency for two non-consecutive terms (2003-2008 and 2013-2018).[1] A member of Bharatiya Janata Party, he is serving as member of Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan state since 2024.[2]

Education

He has earned B.Sc. degree in Maths from Bangur College in Pali, Rajasthan under University of Jaipur in 1974.[1]

Career

In the 1970s, he began his career with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh as a pracharak. In the mid-1980s, he joined the BJP. He moved to the state unit of the BJP after holding a number of positions in the Pali district unit. He defeated Indian National Congress leader Bina Kak both times for the Sumerpur Assembly seat. He also served as the BJP's deputy chief whip in the assembly from 2015 to 2018.[3]

BJP, in 2024, announced Rathore and his colleague Chunnilal Garasiya as its candidates for the Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan.[4][5] They were elected unopposed on 27 February.[2]
